Novar has published its ESG Report 2025. This year, we are taking the next step in our ESG approach. We are increasingly translating our ambitions into concrete KPIs, baselines and targets for 2026 and 2030.
Developing renewable energy is about more than generating as much green energy as possible. Our projects affect nature, people, local communities and entire value chains. That is why we look not only at what we deliver, but also at the impact we create along the way.
Steering more concretely on impact
In our ESG Report 2025, we structure our ambitions around three pillars: Environmental, Social and Governance. Within these pillars, we focus on areas including COâ‚‚ reduction, biodiversity, employee wellbeing, engagement with local communities, responsible procurement and cybersecurity.
What is new this year is that, for more and more topics, we are defining where we stand today and where we want to go. In 2025, for example, our assets produced 322 GWh of renewable energy, with a target of 1,040 GWh by 2030. We have also set concrete targets for areas including emissions, biodiversity monitoring, employee engagement and value chain transparency.
Measure, learn and improve
Not everything can be fully captured in numbers yet. For topics such as carbon avoidance, circularity and parts of our social impact, we will continue to develop methodologies and KPIs in the coming years. That, too, is part of transparent reporting: showing what we already know, as well as where there is still work to be done.
Alongside figures and targets, the report also tells the stories behind our ESG approach. From biodiversity research at solar parks and local participation at Eekerpolder to cybersecurity, sustainable financing and the role of data in the energy system.
Our direction towards 2030
With our ESG Report 2025, we are making our progress more visible and building a stronger foundation for targeted action in the years ahead. In this way, ESG is becoming an increasingly concrete part of how we develop projects, manage our assets and grow as an organisation.
