Groningen, 15 August 2025 – Novar has reached Financial Close for High Way A27 Solar Park Almere. With more than 40,000 solar panels and an installed capacity of 27 MWp, the project will generate enough clean electricity to power around 7,500 households—a major step for Novar and for the Municipality of Almere’s energy transition. The solar park covers approximately 18 hectares directly alongside the high way and smartly reuses an existing grid connection from a former wind farm. The total investment is approximately €16.5 million. Early site preparations are already underway. With Financial Close secured, full construction can now begin. The completion op the project is scheduled for Q1 2026.
The development of High Way A27 Solar Park started with the party Solar Proactive, which obtained the initial project permits. Novar subsequently took over the permit to deliver the project. Now that financing is closed, Novar and the local energy cooperative De Groene Reus are launching a participation campaign. This initiative enables local residents to invest financially in the solar park and directly share in its returns.
“A27 Solar Park Almere shows how reusing existing infrastructure, strong local partnerships, and financial participation can accelerate sustainable projects, we’re proud to actively involve the community in this project together with De Groene Reus.”
– Tim van Twuijver | Project Director at Novar.
“For us, this is a chance to keep sustainable energy local and let residents tangibly benefit from the energy transition, with the participation campaign we hope to reach a broad group of people in and around Almere.”
– Robert Hemmen | Chair of De Groene Reus.
